This San Diego spring engagement was so romantic, gorgeous, and a total blast! Aissa and Jeremiah were so down to explore this location and even included both digital and film photos within their gallery. This engagement shoot was so beautiful in San Diego.
Aissa and Jeremiah planned their entire engagement shoot around wanting a flower field. They reached out to me in February and waited until April for their engagement shoot to have the perfect backdrop and most beautiful weather! In Southern California, the best time for photos with flower fields is to be flexible and plan to take your photos at the end of March through beginning of May. I’d say the wait for their engagement photos was worth it with how the pictures turned out!!
You might remember me sharing photos from this same location from spring 2024. This particular location is in Chuela Vista, right outside of San Diego.
An important thing to keep in mind is that this location is on land that’s privately owned – and is usually mowed down at some point in the spring. In spring 2024, they mowed it down later in the season compared to spring 2025 when they mowed it down pretty early on in the spring. If you’re recommending this location to your clients, it’s always a good idea to scout the location to make sure the flowers are still there and to have a backup location just in case.
Make sure to be prepared to walk around. We had to walk up and around a hill to get to the flowers (about 0.25 mile of walking, so nothing crazy), so it’s still a good idea to wear appropriate shoes. You can always pack an extra pair of shoes to change into once we get to the actual flower field.
*No flowers were harmed for these photos. Always make sure to respect the land and flowers and to be mindful of others enjoying the location as well!
