This summer wedding was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! The entire day was so filled with fun, laughter, and a good time!
Let’s go back to the beginning of this love story first though: Sierra and John first met in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina while on vacation. They were both at the beach with friends, when one of his friends and one of her friends met and decided to go on a date. Sierra and John were both brought along so that Sierra wasn’t stuck third wheeling with the other couple. On this unofficial double date, Sierra and John realized they actually lived close by each other in Virginia and had a lot in common. They kept in touch after that beach vacation, hung out together (not their first date) at an art museum in Richmond, and the rest is historyyyyy. Since then they have survived long distance – and the craziness of covid – with John working in Virginia and Sierra going to grad school in Vermont. They got engaged during Sierra’s last year of grad school and began planning their wedding to be the day as their 5-year anniversary at Magnolia Fields in northern Virginia.
Their venue, which is called Magnolia Fields, was just what they were wanting with lots of nature, plants, greenery, and flowers surrounding them on their big day. It was perfect for a summer wedding! The ceremony was held outside in a field while the reception was held in a 2-story wooden barn. Sierra and her wedding party got ready in the farmhouse on the property which was just next door to the barn. John and his wedding party got ready in the barn in a side room.
Their wedding party – 12 people – were so fun to hang out with and so hyped for their friends getting married. Their wedding party were so ready to do whatever they needed to do to make sure their friends wedding day went smoothly. I lovedddd the mismatching bridesmaid dresses and the groomsmen’s matching coral-colored pocket square to go with the theme. The pocket squares also matched the flowers Sierra had in her hair and her bouquet, so it all went together so beautifully for a summer wedding!!
Some other notable moments throughout this summer wedding day that I don’t want to forget:
Overall, it was a STUNNING August wedding with so many people there to celebrate both of them!!!
